It's been a long time coming!

mmmmm, beer! Unlce Derek, and Aunts Sara and Heather got me a home brewing kit (Mr. Beer, no less) as a Christmas gift last year. And just now am I finally using it! Who would have thought it would have taken so long, considering how fond of beer I am.... the kit is pretty simple. Wort is already made. You just combine beer mixes with other fermentable materials, let it ferment, then bottle it and let it carbonate. viola... yummy beer. you see, in the state of PA, beer sold at distributors can only be purchased in cases. a good case of beer will set you back about $30. if you want a 6-pack, then head to a bar. where a good 6-pack will cost say, $10-$12. this is a travesty! ask about my beer without borders cause sometime. anyway, the kits cost on average $15. so i can make really great tasting beer (TBD) for half the price. this is exciting. fermentation took about 2 and a half weeks. the beer tasted great after fermentation, although not yet carbonated. tonight i bottled the beer with some granulated sugar, which will carbonate the beer in one week. great! the "keg" where fermentation takes place 8 liters, carbonated and ready to drink in one week!
